Kotla slighted, wants to quit Congress

Congressmen would norally put up with any humiliation when their party is in power, but out of it even a small issue pains them enough to bid googbye to the Grand Old Party. Former Union Minister Kotla Suryaprakasha Reddy is ready to quit the party after the Congress was mauled by the Modi wave in the 2014 elections. Kotla is angered because he was not called to the dais on Tuesday at a meeting attended by the top party leadership, including former Pirme Minister Manmohan Singh and vice-president Rahul Gandhi. The meeting was organized to mark 10 years of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in the parched Anantpur. According to party sources, Kotla used the slight to consider his options of leaving the Congress. First Kotla followers have locked up the Congress party office in Kurnool in protest. Now the rumours have it that he was going out of the party. Where could he go? He could go to the YCP without much problem, considering he is also a Royalaseema leader like the party's main base. Kotla going to TDP is doubted because he had all along fought the TDP. The BJP, on the other hand, is holding an open invitation to him, it is learnt.
