Spare Kapus for Tuni violence, Mudragada warns Govt
Kapu supremo Mudragada Padmanabham has warned the government that even one arrest of a Kapu leader for the large-scale violence in Tuni would invite hundreds of community volunteers marching to jails.
Talking to newsmen on Wednesday morning, Mudragada made it clear that he was going on fast-unto-death from February 5. If he were arrested before Friday, he would start his indefinite fast immediately.
The Kapu supremo, who had alleged that it was the government that was behind the Tuni arson and violence, further warned that if the Kapus were inconveninenced in any manner, the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, would have to bear the consequences.
Any arrest of a Kapu leader for the Tuni sabotage would be heeded without a fight by the community and not even a bail plea would be applied.
Mudragada said he would take the responsibility for post-Tuni consequences on behalf of the community people. If any action had to be taken against any Kapu leader, the government would have to first deal with him.
At the same time, the Kapu supremo appealed to the government to include the Kapus among the Backward Classes. His second and immediate demand was the cases filed against the community people in connection with the Tuni violence should be forthwith withdrawn.
The TDP Cabinet was to meet later in the day to decide on the Kapu demands.
