Mudragada exhortation leads to Kapu violence in Tuni

The violent turn to the Kapu agiation in Tuni on Sunday was a direct result of the exhortation by supreme Kapu leader Mudrgada Padmanabham. Speaking at the Kapu `roar', Mudraga told the Kapus that there was no need for further meetings and conferences, and that the time had come for demonstrations in streets for pursuing the reservation issue. After the meeting, as the Kapus were returning, the railway track was in front of them. They stopped the Ratnachal Express and set it on fire. The police intervened and they were severely attacked. The injured police got into an ambulance. The Kapu agitators attacked the ambulance, forced their entry into it and went on chasing the injured policemen. There were two plicemen, including a sub-inspector, getting treatment for their injuries in the ambulance. The Sub-Inspector fearing for his life escaped from the ambulance and reached the police station, gasping for his life. The constable got trapped in the ambulance. The agitators beat him up badly, threatening to kill him. The ambulance driver, who was witness to the incident, told a TV channel on the plight of the police on Monday morning.
