Jayalalithaa sacks MLA for speaking out

AIADMK Supremo Jayalalithaa has removed Harbour MLA Pala. Karuppiah from all positions in the party, including the primary membership, for bringing disrepute to the party. According to party sources, Karuppaiah's sacking was imminent after he publicly criticised the behaviour of ministers and spoke about how politicians and bureaucrats were hand-in-hand in looting the public. In a statement, Jayalalithaa said Karuppaiah had functioned contrary to the party’s ideology and principles, and in an undignified manner. She had asked partymen not to have any truck with him. Karuppaiah is a great orator who often makes controversial observations, including urging people to avoid using Sanskrit words.
