NIA effects 13 arrests, including an intruder
The National Investigation Agency which has stepped up raids to ferret out terrorists wanting to make attacks to disrupt the Republic Day celebrations in the country on Saturday effected 13 arrests.
The NIA made raids on 12 places in six cities. One terrorist who was arrested in Mumbai was stated to be an intruder.
Friday's investigations resulted in the arrest of 14 terror elements.
The NIA had put the country on high alert following definite information about terror attacks in various cities.
Punjab appears to be a loose end in this regard. Similar to the killing of a cabbie driver at Pathankot, another cabbie was killed in neighbouring Himachal and his car was hijacked.
Similarly an Indo-Tibetan Border Police official's car was stolen. Both the vehicles may have been hijacked by terror groups, it is learnt.
