Man charged with rape acquitted owing to intimacy

A man charged with rape has been acquitted by the Delhi High Court on the ground that the girl was also equally driven by youthful urge into their intimacy. Judge Veerendra Bhat of the High Court said the prosecution had failed to prove the rape charge against Vicu Baksh, while the accused and the girl got intimate by their respective urges. While the girl may have cried rape, the correspondence they have had in social media showed that the girl was equally curious about getting intimate. Besides, the girl made the further charge that Vicu Baksh had promised to marry her and ditched her thereafter. The police had filed cases under Section 376 and 506 against Baksh. The court went through the correspondence and other details and concluded that both the girl and Vicu Baksh had enjoyed their intimacy before falling out.
