Dhoni and his remarks negative, says Gavaskar

Indian cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's statement -- Blame me for the Canberra heartbreak -- has disappointed cricketing great Sunil Gavaskar. India was facing a white wash in Australia having faced four defeats in a row, and giving away the last one at Canberra from a position of striking distance and losing 9 wickets for 46 runs. At this rate, Gavaskar said, India might not make good in the 2019 World Cup. Apart from the poor form, Dhoni and his team were not learning from their mistakes. Dhoni, who was supposed to encourage the team, was himself disappointed and betrayed lack of confidence. The Australian tour itself was a big disappointment. Players who should have cashed in on their previous tour experience Down Under failed to do so. They were simply repeating the mistakes. Time has come to take some hard decisions. Young Rishi Dhawan and Gurkeerat could not overcome the pressure situation. The team should infuse more young blood, Gavaskar added.
