Saurav Ganguly's wife meets with mishap
Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly's childhood sweetheart and wife, Donna Ganguly, met with a car accident at Bihari chaurasta in Kolkata on Friday.
The mishap occurred when Donna was going to bring their daughter from school. As the car reached the traffic junction, a truck hit the car from behind. Donna did not suffer any injury, but the car is said to have been slightly damaged.
The police have registered a case and are investigating.
Saurav has been caught up in a conflict of interest cleft. The Ombudsman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Justice AP Shah, has asked Sourav to respond, by January 28, to an allegation of conflict of interest relating to his role on the Indian Premier League governing council. The allegation, received by Justice Shah from a member of the public, is that Ganguly has a commercial tie-up with the RP Sanjiv Goenka group. The group has a stake in the Atletico de Kolkata football club in the Indian Super League. In December last, the group secured the ownership rights to run the Pune franchise in the IPL.
Was this working on Donna's mind when the accident took place?
