Make-in-India Lion logo is imported
The Make in India logo is also imported. The logo comprising Make-in-India Lion, a powerful symbol of India's enlightened past, has in fact been made by Wieden Plus Kennedy advertising agency based in Portland, Oregon, USA. It has a branch office in New Delhi.
The shocking truth has been revealed by Central Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The logo cost the exchequer Rs. 11 crore. The amount was paid to Wieden Plus Kennedy for broadcasting the lion logo rather than preparing it.
The logo details were given in response to a right to Information plea sought by Chandrasekhar Gaur of Madhya Pradesh.
The logo has been prapared to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make-in-India programme much faster into the country.
Market experts wonder why not tenders were called for the purpose because, after all, it was `Make in India' campaign. Whatever it is the Lion Logo is sturdy enough, reflective of our repair work rather than creative work.
