Operation Pig Hunt on in Eluru
Operation Pig Hunt is going on in the Eluru Corporation limits following a civic demand. The people are facing the pig menace for long. Following the demand, the Corporation has taken it upon itself to hunt down pigs, which are stated to be the cause of many diseases. The highlight of the operation is the active participation of the senior TDP leader and MLA, Odeti Kotarama Rao, alias Bujji, in the hunt. As part of the operation, pigs are being hunted down in the middle of the roads. Lathis are being used to kill the pigs. Operation Pig Hunt has become a big show on TV channels. People in large numbers are seeing the chase and hunting down of pigs. Some are finding it horrifying and some finding it necessary. A whole community exists in the State for pig rearing. Their sensibilities as regards the operation are not known. Wild pigs are, however, a delicacy.
