Five film fans killed erecting Star flexis

Five people were killed and two others in a serious condition following short circuits even as fans of Power Star Pavan Kalyan and Prince Mahesh Babu were tying up flexis at two places in East Godavari district to greet the actors on New Year's Day. In all ten people were injured in the incidents. The condition of two of the injured was said to be serious. At Vadisaleru in Rangampeta mandal, the fans of Pavan Kalyan were erecting the flexi. When they came into contact with live wire, two of the fans were killed on the spot and five were injured. The others engaged in the operation immediately rushed the injured to hospital, where two were stated to be fighting for life. In the other incident at Maredupaka in Mandapeta mandal, Mahesh Babu's fans were erecting a 20-foot-high flexi of their star, when they came into contact with live wires. Three of the fans died on the spot. People in the district are stunned that the flexi culture had cost five lives at two places.
