Fire engulfs Chandiyagam Dome, interrrupting rituals

The Chandiyagam yagasthali (venue) dome was engulfed by fire at the stroke of the lunch interval at Erravalli in Medak district on Sunday. Blazing fire and black and white smoke billowed forth from the inflammable dome of the temporary yagashala (venue). Fire brigade personnel, who were called in, were fighting the fire. It took more than half-an-hour to bring the fire under control. All the priests, organisers and visitors are safe. They ran to safety outside the venue.
