Surprised AP Speaker to order probe into video leaks

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaparasad expressed surprise on Thursday how videos of the assembly proceedings have been uploaded in the social media. Since there was no authorization for such a release, the matter would have to be probed into. Whoever was behind the video release had done a wrong thing. A probe was yet to be ordered into the matter, however. The Speaker clarified that it was after the videos started appearing in social media that -- following demands by various parties -- Government Chief Whip Kalva Srinivasulu had released video clips. Kodela said he was not at all approached on the matter of the release of the clips. Immediately seizing on the release by Srinivasulu, YCP leader R.K. Roja had castigated the move as a selective leak and demanded video clips of the other side also. Kodela, who is a leading doctor, said he had never faced such a situation in the 35 years of his public life. He deeply regretted the matters. The Speaker advised the YCP not to disrupt the proceedings of the House. The disruptions were despite his repeated appeals to the YCP members. The suspensions of YCP members were the result of his appeals going in vain. People seeing the live telecast of the proceedings have noticed this much. Any party should do introspection on their functioning. The Speaker announced a tripartite committee to go into the matter of 1-year suspension on Roja. Members of the three parties would be present on the committee. Further action on Roja's suspension would depend on the committee recommendations. At the same time, Kodela warned that as long as he was the Speaker, whoever crosses the limit would be dealt with as per the rules.
