AP upgrades Vizianagaram to municipal corporation

Hyderabad, Dec 10: The government of Andhra Pradesh today issued gazette orders to upgrade the Vizianagaram municipality to the level of a municipal corporation with immediate effect. The new corporation will henceforth be called the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation (VMC). As pert the Gazette orders, several gram panchayats adjoining the town will be merged with the new corporation, sources said.
