Rs 27,097 cr needed for constructing Amaravati: Union minister HP Chaudhary

Hyderabad, Dec 8: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary today informed the Lok Sabha that Experts Committee has estimated in its reports that Rs 27,097 crore would be need to construct Amaravati, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh. HP Chaudhary revealed this information while tabling the report of the Experts Committee in the Lok Sabha today. According to the report, construction of buildings would cost Rs 10,519 crore, basic essential facilities would cost Rs 1,536 crore and expansion of basic facilities would cost Rs 9,181 crore. He also revealed that during 2014-15 and 2015-16 fiscal years the central government had released Rs 1,850 crore.
