AP earns Rs 300cr revenue through BPS
Hyderabad, Dec 8: The cash starved Andhra Pradesh government is likely to earn Rs 300 crore revenue through Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS).
In view of the excellent public response to the scheme, the state government is believed to have extended the scheme to December 31, sources said.
The government received over 60,000 applications from people living in all the urban local bodies till the first week of December, sources added.
The state government introduced the scheme to regularise unauthorised buildings and also buildings that were constructed in deviation to the original sanctioned plan.
BPS is applicable to those buildings that were built after January 1, 1985 and before December 31 of 2014.
