Mild tremors felt in parts of Ongole

Hyderabad, Nov 28: Mild tremors were felt in parts of Ongole of Prakasam district this morning. Panic-stricken people rushed out of their homes in some areas of the city including Zakariah hospital centre, C.S.R.Sarma college centre and Sitharamapuram. People saw some household articles change their places at least thrice between 10 am and 10.10 am. However, there were no reports of any damage to any property. Ongole region comes under the moderate damage risk zone. The region had experienced at least 12 earthquakes in the past 30 years. Two of the major quakes were felt during 1959 and 1967.
