After noodles, now its Maggi 'Pazzta', Nestle India slams charges

Hyderabad, Nov 28: After Maggi noodles, Uttar Pradesh's state-owned food testing laboratory has found excessive quantities of lead in Nestle's pasta landing the MNC into fresh trouble. Meanwhile, Nestle India refuted the charges and said its pasta was 100% secure and safe to consume. In a statement released today, Nestle India said, "MAGGI Pazzta is 100% safe. The finished product and the raw materials used to make it undergo rigorous testing during every stage of the manufacturing process. We have seen media reports' claiming that lead has been found in the product and we are investigating." Nestle India also asserted that it has not received any formal notification from UP's Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) about any test result where the company' pasta samples failed the lead test. The company statement said, "We regret the confusion that these media reports might be causing. Our products are 100% safe to consume. We will work with the authorities to resolve the situation as quickly as possible."
