Police detain 15 Myanmar nationals in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Nov 24: Following a terror alert issued by the central intelligence agencies, Hyderabad police this morning held a cordon and search operation in the old city of Hyderabad and they detained 115 suspects including 15 Myanmar nationals, sources said. At least 500 policemen, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) V. Satyanarayana, took part in the door-to-door search in different localities including Noorinagar, Ghousenagar and Hafeezbabanagar near Chandrayangutta. The search operation began at 5 am and went on for two hours. During the operation, police seized 40 vehicles. The detained Myanmar nationals were staying illegally at Hafeezbabanagar. DCP (South) V. Satyanarayana said the city police increased vigil following an input of likely attack by Al-Qaeda in Hyderabad and other metros.
