Police step up security for elected leaders over bauxite row

Hyderabad, Nov 24: In a significant development, Visakhapatnam (rural) police have increased the security cover to all the elected representatives and in the Visakhapatnam Agency area in view of a row over bauxite mining in the region. Announcing this to media, Superintendent of Police (Vizag rural) Dr Koya Praveen said armed guards have been increased to elected leaders as per their scale. He said security was also stepped up for panchayat raj minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu.
