IED found on Srinagar highway

Srinagar, Nov 21: An improvised explosive device (IED) was detected on a busy highway that connects Jammu and Kashmir with Muzaffarabad in Pakistan, averting a tragedy, police said on Saturday. A road opening party (ROP) of the security forces detected an IED planted under a culvert on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway in Lawaypora area of Srinagar district on Saturday, a police official told IANS. "The IED has been defused thereby averting a major tragedy on the busy road," he added.
