Court quashes cheque bounce case against Vijendra Prasad

Hyderabad, Nov 20: In a significant development, the Yelamanchili court today quashed the cheque bounce case filed against Vijendra Prasad, father of filmmaker SS Rajamouli. It may be recalled that former MLA, YSR Congress Party leader and film producer Chengala Venkata Rao filed a cheque bounce case against Vijendra Prasad claiming that the later had given him two cheques of Rs 30 lakh each on May 16 in 2011. He then alleged that the cheques bounced when he had gone to Andhra Bank to encash it. Following which Venkat Rao had filed a case. The court later had issued warrant against Prasad for his continuous non-appearance before the court. It had issued notices three times to Prasad in the last few months. It may be recalled that Chengala Venkata Rao had given Rs 60 lakh to Vijayendra Prasad a few years back to write a movie script. However, Vijayendra Prasad did not complete the work. The present case in with reference to that assignment.
