Post-rains property damage pegged at Rs 6,651 cr in Chittoor

Hyderabad, Nov 19: The Roads and Building department (Chittoor circle) has pegged the total damage due to the destuctive rains in the eastern mandals of Chittoor district at Rs.6651.10 crore. Stating that temporary restoration alone needs Rs.749 crore, R&B officials said the Tirupati subdivision suffered damage worth Rs.4250 crore. Damage in Chittoor has been pegged at Rs.1763.10 crore and in Madanapalli Rs.638 crore. The R&B further said 241 km of road stretch got damaged in the district due to breaches. Meanwhile, fresh rains since this morning, hindered relief and rehabilitation operations.
