Jet Airways, IndiGo, SpiceJet slapped Rs 258 Crore Fine for unfair biz practices

Hyderabad, Nov 18: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is reported to have slapped fines totalling Rs 258 crore on IndiGo, SpiceJet and Jet Airways for joining hands to fix fuel surcharge for transporting cargo. The CCI, however, did not impose any fine on Air India and Go Airlines, even though they were named in a complaint filed by Express Industry Council of India, reports said. The CCI imposed a penalty of Rs 151.69 crore on Jet Airways, Rs 63.74 crore on InterGlobe and Rs 42.48 crore on SpiceJet. InterGlobe Aviation operates no-frills carrier IndiGo.
