Heavy rains force SCR to cancel, divert trains in AP

Hyderabad, Nov 17: In view of heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh and around Chennai, the South Central Railways (SCR) is being forced to cancel, partially cancel and or divert the running of some of the express and mail trains for the third day in a row. Early on Tuesday, the SCR had announced the cancellation of at least 30 trains, partially cancelled nine trains and diverted another nine trains. This was necessitated flowing the over-flowing of water on a railway bridge between Tada and Sullurpet stations on the Gudur-Chennai section. Also, there was a bank slip between Yellakaru and Venkatagiri stations and Vendodu-Kondagunta stations, SCR officials said.
