Naidu directs CRDA to make green norms must in Amaravati

Hyderabad, Nov 16: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is believed to have directed to grant permissions to buildings within Amaravati capital city only if they mandatorily fulfill the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC). As a result, all commercial and government buildings including malls, multiplexes, hotels and hospitals coming up within 1,000 square metres plot area in the capital city will get permissions only if they follow ECBC, according to AP Energy Secretary Ajay Jain. In this connection, the central government is preparing to establish an ECBC cell in Andhra Pradesh. The cell will consist of national-level empanelled architects to monitor compliance of ECBC norms in Amaravati, sources said.
