Kodandaram wants TSERC to hold public hearing on controversial PPA

Hyderabad, Nov 12: In a significant development, Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M Kodandaram is said to have submitted a memorandum to the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC). In the memorandum, he sought a public hearing on the power purchase agreement (PPA) between the State discoms and the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL). The TJAC chief, along with TJAC members and representatives of several organisations, is said to have met TSERC Chairman Ismail Ali Khan on Tuesday. Kodandaram urged TSERC chief to hold a public hearing on the controversial PPA. Citing public concerns on the PPA, the TJAC chief said the PPA will entail huge burden on consumers and the TS government as well.
