TTD shuts down Tirumala footway due to landslides

Hyderabad, Nov 11: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam officials today ordered the closure of the footway to Tirumala in view of heavy downpour on the seven hills and the ghat roads. Even before the closure of the footway, thousands of devotees, who had vowed to walk uphills for the Lord's darshan, were seen experiencing troubles throughout the route. Due to heavy downpour, water was seen gushing down the hills in the form of waterfalls damaging the ghat roads also. As a result, TTD officials have rushed personnel to take up repairing works. Due to land slides at some locations on the ghat roads, TTD officials and the police officials were seen diverting the traffic via the link road.
