Heavy rains fill up water bodies at Tirumala after 10 years

Hyderabad, Nov 10: Heavy rains that are lashing Tirumala and Tirupati for the past 48 hours has filled up the parched water bodies uphills after a a gap of 10 years. With the rains weakening in the past few house, TTD officials on Tuesday morning re-opened vehicular traffic on the two ghat roads to Tirumala from Tirupati. Following the heavy rains, the two major water bodies, Gogarbham and Akashaganga, have filled up to the brim. The flood water is heavily flowing into waterfalls like Papanashanam Thirtham, Kumaradhara and Pasupudhara. TTD chairman Chadalavada Krishna Murthy and Executive Officer Sambasiva Rao performed pujas at the water bodies that have been filled to the brim. They then expressed their happiness that the water bodies at Tirumala had filled up after a gap of 10 years.
