Karnataka minister's wife caught while accepting bribe in sting operation
Hyderabad, Nov 6: Karnataka's Minister for Social Welfare Anjaneya is in trouble following a sting operation by a TV channel, which showed his wife accepting Rs 7 lakh as bribe. The video shows a man putting currency notes on a table before the minister's wife at his house. According to the channel, it used fake currency to bribe the minister's wife for getting a tender worth Rs. 7 crore passed. Anjaneya, however, is unfazed and defended his wife. He said, "There is no need for me to take bribe, and my wife is not that kind. She is innocent. There is a conspiracy behind this... I have not come into politics to make easy money, but serve the people." Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah refused to be drawn into the controversy by saying he was not aware of the sting operation.
