Kanaka Durga temple flyover works to begin on Nov 7

Vijayawada, Nov 5: The much awaited work relating to the flyover at the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada has begun today. Officials from the Roads and Buildings Department have started the demolition of building in the vicinity of the temple. The government had already paid the compensation to the owners of several houses and buildings in that area. In this connection, the traffic bound for Vijayawada would be diverted from November 7 to the city via the tunnel road from Gollapudi to facilitate the construction of the bridge. The flyover is expected to be a three-span one and it is to be divided into 12 units. The length of the flyover will be 1,850 metres and with the inclusion of the approach road on both sides of the flyover the length is to be 2,350 metres. The flyover is expected to be ready by Krishna Pushkarams in 2016.
