NIMS Ex-Director under ACB scanner
Hyderabad, Nov 05: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths this morning raided the residences on NIMS (Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital former director Dharmarakshak and four others in connection with a probe into alleged financial irregularities in procurement of medical equipment.
According to reports, the officials pocketed Rs 3 crore by procuring beds, ventilators, lights and other equipment in 2013 without consulting the Technical Evaluation Committee.
Dharmarakshak said the equipment was procured as per norms. He announced that he would wage a legal battle in the case.
The raids were also carried on the residences of NIMS Additional Medical Director Mukund Reddy, financial consultant Sridhar and two medical equipment suppliers.
