Air India crew caught smuggling contraband

London, Nov 02: Air India, India's national carrier, is in news for all the wrong reasons. Air India's cabin crew on Delhi-London flight was caught red-handed smuggling cough syrup Benadryl. Though the incident happened a month ago, the airlines management recently issued notice to the cabin crew involved in the smuggling. Officials said that the staff found to be involved in the incident will be terminated from service. The cabin crew reportedly smuggled 450 bottles of the cough syrup. Cough syrups are not available over the counter in UK and many foreign countries. Union Minister Mahesh Sharma said that government will not tolerate indiscipline and misconduct of employees. In the past, Air India staff were suspended and penalised for smuggling gold and other substances.
