Janardhan takes charge as GHMC chief, EC probes voters list deletion charge

Hyderabad, Oct 31: Even as Janardhan Reddy took charge as the commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), a 13-member special team from the Election Commission of India today began its investigation on the issue of deletion of thousands of names from the voters' list. The team is currently visiting assembly constituencies being represented by BJP and TDP legislators under GHMC limits. After questioning the local body officials on the allegations of the deletion of large number of votes in constituencies represented by opposition members, the team is said to have expressed its displeasure on the issue.
