AP finances in doldrums: Yanamala

Vijayawada, Oct 29: Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu maintained that finances of the state were in doldrums. Speaking to the reporters here, Yanamala said that government released Rs 9,000 crore funds for development programmes that have no budgetary allocations in the first half of the financial year despite a deficit of Rs 3,000 crore. Yanamala said that a special plan is being prepared to prevent farmers suicides and to make agriculture profitable. He announced that government would release Rs 4,303 crore by January 10 towards second phase of crop loan waiver scheme. Government will receive objections on crop loan waiver scheme till November 30 and any correspondence will not be allowed thereafter.
