Lava to invest Rs 500cr in AP to manufacture smartphones

Hyderabad, Oct 26: Smart phone manufacturing major Lava is expected to invest at least Rs 500 crore in Andhra Pradesh for the manufacture of smart phones. The company is likely to set up its facility at Ekarallu, located 20 km away from Tirupati in Chittoor district. Revealing this information the company's chief of international manufacturing division Sanjeev Agarwal said at least 12,000 jobs will be created directly and indirectly at its Tirupati facility. Agarwal said the construction of the Tirupati facility will be completed and the first batch of smart phones will come out of the the plant by 2017.
