State-wide protests against Modi over special status to AP

Hyderabad, Oct 23: Activists of Congress, YSRCP and left parties today burned the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and staged protests demanding a special status for Andhra Pradesh. The activists were aggressive in several place including Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore and Tirupati. However, police rounded up the protesters and shifted them to the nearby police stations. speaking to media in Hyderabad, YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu lashed out at Modi for gifting handful of sand and tumbler of water to the people of AP, who were eagerly waiting for the special status announcement. Meanwhile, former Nellore MLA Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy asked whether Modi visited Amaravati only to play with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu's grandson. In Vijayawada, You Congress leader Devineni Avinash told Chandrababu to catch hold of Modi's collar and not his feet for the announcement of a special status to AP.
