Elaborate arrangements in place for Amaravati fete

Vijayawada, Oct 21: Elaborate arrangements are in place for the Amaravati foundation-stone laying ceremony to be held at Uddandarayunipalem village near here on the occasion of 'Dasara' tomorrow. Officials have already made necessary arrangements and the focus now shifted to security aspects. Two lakh people are expected to attend the event. Seven helipads were constructed for the 3,000 VIPs attending the ceremony. Three stages were erected separately for foundation-stone ceremony, cultural programmes and industrialists. A separate gallery was erected for 25,000 farmers who gave their land for the capital city. Fifteen LED screens were installed for the convenience of the public. Special Protection Group (SPG), the elite security force, which provides security cover to Prime Minister, has took the venue into its control. Unprecedented security arrangements were in place and 14,000 security personnel and 12 IPS officers were deputed for bandobust duty. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in foundation-stone laying ceremony from 12:35 to 12:43 pm and will address the public from 1:11 to 1:43 pm. Meals will be provided to 1,60, 000 people.
