Mouth-watering menu for Amaravati fete

Guntur, Oct 20: The Andhra Pradesh government has planned to serve traditional Andhra cuisine to the dignitaries and people attending the capital foundation-stone laying ceremony on October 22. The catering contract was awarded to Ambica caterers. The contractor has already started preparations at Malkapuram village. According to sources 1.6 lakh people would attend the event. Three types of meals would be prepared for VVIPs, farmers who had given land to capital city and and the common people. A ready-to-serve packet has Pulihora, Chakrapongali, Daddojonam, and Tappeswaram Kaza. It will be common to all. Along with the food packet, a ½ litre water bottle will be given to farmers and two water packets for common people. The agency roped in 400 cooks and 200 packing boys to prepare 1.3 lakh food packs for 1.6 lakh people. For VVIPs, North Indian, Chinese, American and other dishes would also be served. Sweets preparation would be started tomorrow evening. Special arrangements were in place to preserve the food items. Ministers Peethala Sujatha and Paritala Sunitha are overseeing the food arrangements.
