Guv draws flak for praising Revanth
Hyderabad, Oct 20: ESL Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, has landed himself in a controversy by praising cash-for-vote scam accused TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy.
Speaking to the reporters here, Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao took a strong objection to Governor ESL Narasimhan's statement that there were no instances of corruption in his tenure.
VH asked the Governor to urge Centre to order an CBI inquiry to substantiate his claims. VH flayed Governor for remaining silent on farmers' suicide.
It is inappropriate for someone of that stature to commend Revanth Reddy accused of horse-trading MLAs, he added.
It may be noted that Revanth Reddy along with TTDP leaders met Governor ESL Narasimhan on Monday. The Governor while recalling an incident in the Assembly, called Revanth Reddy a brave person.
Though TDP leaders tried to give an explanation to the word of praise, Governor stopped them saying that he knew very well about Revanth.
