Amaravati should be the best among beautiful cities: Chandrababu
Guntur, Oct 22: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu hoped that Amaravati should be the best among the most beautiful cities in the world.
He presided over all-religious prayers for 'Mana Matti Mana Neeru' (holy soil and water) collected from all corners of the state and the country at Acharya Nagarjuna University near here today.
The CM also flagged off vehicles carrying 'Kalasams' of 'Mana Matti Mana Neeru'. The CM said that the holy water and holy soil will be sprinkled in CRDA region from helicopter.
The CM hoped that Amaravati will usher in good fortune for the state. He said the decision to set up capital city in Amaravati was taken keeping in mind the needs and convenience of people.
He termed the foundation-stone laying ceremony as a mega event. Amaravati has a great history and there is a separate gallery earmarked for artifacts from the area in London museum, he added.
Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Ministers P Narayana, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Devineni Uma and others were present.
