Chandrababu will repent Amaravati capital decision: Medha Patkar
Hyderabad, Oct 20: Noted social activist Medha Patkar has strongly objected to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's grandiose capital city plans. Medha Patkar was speaking at Chintan Shibir (meeting) of National Alliance of People's Movement (NAPM) in Hyderabad yesterday. Medha termed Chandrababu as “Blue-eyed boy of World Bank”. The project will adversely affect agriculture production and will displace 90,000 farm workers, she said. Medha said that Chandrababu will seek apology for capital city construction in 2019 general elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi derived the name “Kisan Virodhi” (anti-farmer) for his approach on farmers and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was also following in his footsteps, she commented. Other social activists warned that people would revolt against the government if it fails to provide better rehabilitation package to the evacuees.
