MBBS scam: Six students booked for producing fake certificates

Kurnool, Oct 16: The police today slapped a criminal case on six students who secured admission in MBBS course by submitting fake caste certificates. The matter came into light during the certificate verification by Dr NTR University of Health Sciences. District Collector Vijayamohan has ordered an inquiry on the role of Tahsildar Sivaramudu in the scam. According to reports, Sivaramudu the then Tahsildar of Kallur mandal in the district issued BC certificates to open category students in violation of rules. Sivaramudu was suspended on corruption charges. As per the directions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, police filed cases on the six students Gosula Pratima, Lankala Nikhila Reddy, Lavanya, Korra Mounika, Bhavani Reddy and Abra Ali Khan. under IPC sections 420, 466 and 471. According to reports, the police today nabbed the key accused Bal Reddy. Bal Reddy is native of Anantapur district and he is the kingpin in the scandal.
