Live rat found in sealed bread packet supplied in AIIMS

Delhi, Oct 13: A live rat jumped out of a sealed bread packet in the country's premier health institute-All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The rat was found in the sealed packet of Brown-Hi Fibre bread manufactured by Bonn Nutrients. AIIMS officials ordered an inquiry and banned the manufacturer/supplier for three years. Bonn Nutrients manufactures breads and different type of food products that are sold in India and abroad. The bread is served to the patients who have undergone surgery or those suffering from severe infections. Consumption of rodent-infected food will cause allergy, fever, blood infection and other ailments. The incident exposes lapses in quality checking in food processing industries in the country.
