Woman tonsured, paraded for abandoning husband

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Oct 13: In a bizarre incident, elders of a village allegedly tonsured the head of a woman and paraded her for abandoning her husband and living with another partner. The incident happened at Sedam in Surguja area of Chhattisgarh state. The woman abandoned her drunkard husband and started living with another person. On knowing about this, the village elders tied the woman's hands and got her head tonsured by husband and paraded her in the village. They also passed a resolution barring the woman from residing in the village. Police immediately rushed to the village and started investigation. They warned of severe action against those involved in the incident.
