AP cricketer in sex abuse row commits suicide

Vijayawada, Oct 12: A former AP woman cricketer committed suicide at her residence at Gunadala in the city yesterday. Durga Bhavani (30) played for AP cricket team in Ranji tourneys. She recently alleged that former Andhra Cricket Association general secretary sexually harassed her. Durga Bhavani withdrew the complaint against the official and said that she had been forced by an official from Tirupati to do so. According to reports, Bhavani was found hanging at her residence. In the suicide note recovered near her body, she said, “ No body should be held responsible for my death and police should not inquire the incident.” Durga Bhavani is survived by a four-year old girl child.
