Jana Reddy stays away from TS bandh, irks Cong leaders
Hyderabad, Oct 10: Leader of the opposition in the Telangana assembly and Congress leader Jana Reddy is said to have stayed away from the all party Telangana shutdown thereby irritating the other state-level Congress leaders.
It may be recalled that all the opposition parties including Congress, TDP and BJP called for a day-long shutdown in Telangana over farmers' issues on Saturday.
The opposition parties are demanding the government to implement one-time waiver of farm loans to check the increasing number of suicides by farmers.
Several political leaders of various parties were arrested this morning for staging sit-ins at bus stations and depots in Hyderabad and nine other districts in the state.
The arrested leaders included Uttam Kumar Reddy of the Congress, L Ramana of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Kishan Reddy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Narayana of CPI and others.
