Local status to employees, students: AP sets June 2, 2017 as deadline

Vijayawada, Oct 2: The Andhra Pradesh state government has set June 2, 2017 as deadline to obtain nativity status for the students and employees who shift to Vijayawada or others places in AP from Hyderabad and other regions in Telangana. The students and employees who shift to AP after June 2, 2017 will not be considered under local status for employment and education purposes. The government would clear the issue after getting nod from Centre. The decision was taken at Cabinet meet held here yesterday. It may be noted that the shifting of administration to Vijayawada was delayed as employees working in Hyderabad urged the government to accord local status to them and their children in AP. If local status is not accorded to employees and children who shifted from Hyderabad to AP, they should compete only under open quote in jobs and education and they would be considered as non- locals.
