AP eyes forest land in WG to set up industries

Hyderabad, Oct 1: Andhra Pradesh government is seriously planning to establish industries in the West Godavari district to give a boost to entrepreneurship and generate employment. In this connection, the state government is preparing plans to set up industries in a big way in the forest lands of the district. Officials had already conducted a survey of 16,000 acres of forest land and have forwarded a proposal to the central government urging it to denotify the said forest lands. East and West Godavari district are rich in water resources and as a result agriculture is the main source of income for the farmers. Also, farm lands in the two districts are very expensive. As a result, the state government has found it difficult to go for land pooling in the two district. That is why the state government is considering to take over the forest lands and establish industries there.
