TS opposition MLAs protest in front of assembly, arrested

Hyderabad, Oct 1: Hyderabad police today arrested legislators belonging to the opposition parties for staging a protest in front of the state assembly. Legislators belonging to Congress, Telugu Desam Party, BJP, CPM and CPI were protesting against the Telangana government for abruptly adjourning the proceedings of the legislative assembly. Congress MLA Jeevan Reddy described the abrupt adjournment of the assembly as unfortunate and said the government's action was an insult to the farmers who were committing suicide. Though the opposition asked for a clear policy statement on the problems plaguing farmers, the government had refused to listen to them, he said.
